Knotorial 02 - The Bracket (Bracelet)

While freestyling and trying different knots, I found this pattern on the backside of an attempt and made a bracelet out of it.

It's called 'The Bracket' because it reminds me of this sign. }}}

Usually I wouldn't combine these colors, but for this knotorial they're easy to distinguish.

Used (boiled) paracord for:
~20cm (~7.9 in.) bracelet

~185cm (~6.1 ft.) charcoal grey
~155cm (~5.1 ft.) electric blue

~155cm (~5.1 ft.) neon pink

Step 01:

As shown in Knotorial 01, start with a buckle connected to three colors.

The first picture shows the pattern and this picture shows how the colors are arranged for that. The outer cords seperate the brackets.
Step 02:

Use the outer cords to make a cross on the frontside.
It's important to remember which side you started with, so all following crosses will look equal.

I used to start with the right cord and put the left cord over it.

Step 03:

Make a second cross using the same direction.
Step 04:

Pull the upper cross to form the the grey cord as shown in the picture.
Step 05:

Turn the buckle to the backside, form the two crosses to look like a circle as shown in the picture.
 Step 06:

The blue cord will form the bigger brackets.

Use the blue ends and pull them through the grey loops on the left and right side.
 Step 07:

Pull the blue ends all the way through the grey loops.
 Step 08:

Pull the pink ends between the blue and pink cords above the circle.
Step 09:

Pull the pink ends all the way through.
 Step 10:

This picture looks strange, but it just shows where the ends go.
Pull the pink ends through the grey circle.

Pull the blue ends through the space left and right from the circle.
The blue cord lays over the pink cord, as shown in the picture.
 Step 11:

Pull the pink and blue ends all the way through.

Step 12:

Tighten the loops and knots firmly, pull on the cords that come from the buckle, instead of just pulling the ends.

The result should look as shown in the picture.
Step 13:

Congratulations !
Turn the buckle to the frontside and take a look at your first bracket.

The result should look like this.

 Step 14:

You have completed the technique to tie the brackets, start over at Step 02 to continue the pattern.

Form two crosses with the outer cords on the frontside.
Turn the bracelet to the backside and pull the blue ends through the upper grey loops on the left and right side.

Pull the pink ends between the blue and pink cord above the circle.
Pull the pink ends through the circle.

Pull the blue ends through the space between the circle and the pink cord.

Make sure the blue cord lays over the pink cord.
Tighten the knots and loops firmly.

Pull the cords from the origin, not just only at the ends.
Turn the buckle to the frontside and take a look at your second bracket.
Repeat Step 02 - Step 14 to tie more brackets until you reached the desired bracelet length.

Don't forget to calculate the buckle and the finishing for the length.
 Step 15:

To finish the bracelet and add the other part of the buckle, cut and singe the middle cords that you've pulled through the circle.
The blue and grey cords will hold the other part of the buckle.
This picture just shows the backside with the middle cords cut and singed.

Turn it to the frontside to continue with Step 16.
 Step 16:

Form a cross on the frontside with the outer grey cords, by laying the right grey cord over the right blue cord and then under the left blue cord.

Put the left grey cord over the left blue cord and then under the right blue cord as shown in the picture.
 Step 17:

Pull the grey ends through the upper loops on the left and right side.
Step 18:

Turn the bracelet on the backside.

This time don't tighten the knot, because you need the lower grey loops for the buckle attachment.
 Step 19:

Pull the grey and blue ends through the frontside of the buckle.
 Step 20:

Pull the left grey and blue ends through the left lower grey loop shown in Step 18.

Pull the right grey and blue ends through the right lower grey loop shown in Step 18.
 Step 21:

Tighten the knots and loops firmly.

Hold the buckle then pull the grey and blue ends.

Now the frontside should look as shown in the picture.
 Step 22:

Cut and singe the grey and blue cord.
If you don't like how the singed ends look, you can paint them careful.
I'm using a thimble to push on the molten cord, as stephan123321 from youtube does.

To paint the singed ends I use a common waterproof cd-marker.
I recommend to put the paracord you want to use for bracelets in boiling hot water for a few minutes !

It will prevent it from shrinking, if somebody would put it in their washing machine and laundry dryer.
The finished bracelet.

I hope this knotorial was easy to understand and that you enjoy tieing the brackets !

I'd really like to see some pictures from your finished pieces, just to be sure that I didn't forget any steps. Of course any feedback is very welcome. Thank you !
