Knotorial 03 - The Scissor Stitch (Bracelet)

This pattern somehow reminds me of scissors, so it's called
'The Scissor Stitch'.

It's an easy technique and doesn't require much cord.

Used (boiled) paracord for:
~21cm (~8.3 in.) bracelet

~160cm (~5.3 ft.) caribbean blue
~160cm (~5.3 ft.) goldenrod

To prevent the bracelet from shrinking, I recommend to put it in boiling hot water for a few minutes.

Step 01:

As shown in Knotorial 01, start with a buckle connected with two colors.

 Step 02:

Form a cross with the outer cords.

Always remember which cord you use first, i'll start with the right cord then laying the left cord over it.

 Step 03:

Use the right blue cord that lays under the cross to form a loop as shown in the picture.

 Step 04:

Use the right golden end from the cross to pull it between the right blue and golden cord under the buckle.

The right blue end lays over the golden cord.

Now pull the golden end through the right blue loop created in
Step 03.

 Pull the golden cord all the way through the blue loop.

Step 05:

Use the left blue cord that lays under the cross to form a blue loop as shown in the picture.

The left blue end lays over the left golden end.

Step 06:

Repeat Step 04 on the left side. Pull the golden end through the left loop under the buckle and then through the blue loop formed in Step 05.

Pull the golden end all the way through both loops.

Step 07:

 Tighten the loops and knots firmly.

Pull on the golden loop that you formed after the cross instead of just pulling the ends.

This picture shows the frontside, the lower golden loops should stay right next to the golden ends.

Well done !
The 'Scissor Stitch' technique is already completed, now continue with the pattern using the opposite colors.

 Repeat Step 02 - Step 07 to form the next scissors.

Form a cross with the outer cords.

 Form a loop left and right with the cords laying under the cross.

 Pull the ends from the cross through the upper blue loops and then through the lower golden loops formed in the previous step.

 Pull the blue ends all the way through the loops...

 ...then tighten the loops and knots.

This picture shows the frontside, the lower blue loops should stay right next to the blue ends.

 Repeat Step 02 - Step 07 until the desired bracelet length is almost reached.

Don't forget to calculate the finish and the buckle for the length.

Step 08:

To finish the bracelet and connect the other part of the buckle, turn the bracelet on the frontside. 

Use the outer left cord and form an easy knot as shown in the picture.

Step 09:

Use the outer right cord to form a second knot.

The result should look as shown in the picture.

Don't tighten the knots to much because you need it for the finish.

Step 10:

Pull all ends through the frontside of the buckle.

Step 11:

Turn the bracelet to the backside then pull the middle ends through both knots created in Step 08 and Step 09.

Step 12:

Pull one outer cord through the upper knot.

Pull the other outer cord through the lower knot.

 Step 13:

Tighten the loops and knots connected to the buckle.

Hold the buckle and pull the ends.

The result should look as shown in the picture.

Step 14:

Cut and singe the remaining ends on the backside.

The finished bracelet.
